The artist behind
the smoke.
Tarah Pechler is a pyrography artist in Edmonton, Alberta, burning wood by hand since 2018. She came to the medium for its patience and its permanence — the way fire leaves a mark you can't take back, and the way every grain answers the heat a little differently.
Her work lives where nature meets memory: botanicals, portraits, family names, and one-of-a-kind décor. No shortcuts, no copies, no two the same. She works on her own terms and on her own time.
She takes commissions year-round and ships worldwide, with a soft spot for the pieces tied to milestones — weddings, new homes, and the people we want to remember forever.
